KidzLog
Getting Started

Supported Browsers & Devices

Recommended browsers, device tips, and how to add KidzLog to your home screen for app-like access.

KidzLog runs in any modern web browser — there's no app to install. This page covers which browsers work best, a few device-specific tips, and how to add KidzLog to your home screen so it opens like a regular app.

  • Google Chrome (recommended). Best overall compatibility, and the most reliable for saving passwords across phones and tablets.
  • Safari on iOS or Mac. Fully supported, with a couple of iOS quirks noted below.
  • Microsoft Edge. Fully supported. Built on Chromium, the same engine as Chrome.
  • Firefox. Fully supported on desktop and Android.
Keep your browser updated. Modern browser features make KidzLog faster, more secure, and ensure password managers and biometric login work properly.

Saving Your Login

KidzLog doesn't have a "Stay logged in" checkbox — your browser's built-in password manager handles this for you. On the login page:

Type your email and password

Use a real submission — press Enter or click Sign In rather than navigating away.

Confirm the save prompt

Your browser will offer to save your credentials. Accept it.

Next time you visit

Your browser will auto-fill the form, often with a single tap on the email field.

Not seeing the save prompt?
  • Make sure your browser's password saving is turned on (in browser settings).
  • Some private/incognito modes never offer to save.
  • On iOS Safari, the "AutoFill Passwords" toggle in Settings → Passwords → Password Options needs to be on.
  • Chrome on Android is the most reliable for password saving across devices.

Device Tips

iPad

Works very well. KidzLog is regularly used on iPads for attendance, kiosk mode, and admin tasks.

  • Landscape orientation gives you the most room for the dashboard.
  • Pinch-to-zoom works the same as on a phone.

iPhone / Android phones

Fully supported for everything teachers and admins need on the go.

iOS Safari pinch-zoom: If you pinch-zoom the page, the bottom navigation menu may briefly appear above its normal position. Tap once to reset, or use the browser's "Aa" menu to reset the zoom level.

Desktops & laptops

The dashboard and reports are easiest to work with on a larger screen. Owners and admins typically do most setup work on a desktop or laptop and switch to a phone or tablet for daily operations.

Add KidzLog to Your Home Screen

You can add KidzLog to your phone or tablet home screen so it opens like a regular app — full screen, with its own icon, no address bar.

iPhone / iPad (Safari)

Safari is required for "Add to Home Screen" on iOS — Chrome on iOS doesn't support it.

  1. Open the login page in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square-with-arrow icon at the bottom of the screen, or top on iPad).
  3. Scroll the action list and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add in the top-right. The KidzLog icon now appears on your home screen.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open the login page in Chrome.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right.
  3. Tap Add to Home screen or Install app — either option works.
  4. Tap Add or Install. The KidzLog icon now appears on your home screen.
A dedicated KidzLog mobile app is on our long-term roadmap. In the meantime, "Add to Home Screen" gives you the same quick access without taking up app-store space or needing to manage updates.
